— Saturday’s baseball doubleheader between Glenwood Springs and visiting Steamboat Springs had a little bit of everything.

Great pitching, big hits, not-so-great pitching and a whole lot of runs colored a split between the Demons and the Sailors.

Four innings of no-hit, nine-strikeout ball from Alan Capistron helped Steamboat to a 10-6 win in the opener. Capistron had to exit the game with a finger injury, which allowed the Demons to mount a rally against the Sailors bullpen.

Mario Gonzalez had a two-run home run — his fourth blast in six games this season — for Glenwood in the defeat.

The Demons bounced back in the nightcap, coming back from a 6-2 deficit to pull out the win.

Luke Jacob was 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs, and Collin Thornton went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Glenwood, which broke a 10-all tie with a two-run single by Kevin Flohr in the top of the seventh inning.

Thornton picked up the win in relief for the Demons, who are now 3-3 for the season. Steamboat Springs moved to 2-5 for the year.
