Qualified athletes included Wyatt Gebhardt, Noel Keeffe, Tyler Terranova, Nick Sweeney, Evan Barbier, Sven Tate, Jimmy Colfer, Sadie Cotton, Dasha Kuznetsova, Meg Anderson, Chase High, Kieran Hahn, Cooper Jones, Waverly Gebhardt and Avery Harrington.
That team was announced after a weekend of racing in Durango — the final of four qualification competitions.
There, plenty of skiers shined for Steamboat.
Wyatt Gebhardt won both of his races, a 10-kilometer U20/18 mass start event on Saturday and a 5K interval start race on Sunday.
Noel Keeffe was second Saturday and third Sunday while Sven Tate made it an all-Steamboat podium with a third-place finish Saturday. Tate was also eighth on Sunday.
Waverly Gebhardt had two podium finishes in her races. A U16 skier, she raced up a division on Saturday and finished second in the U20/18 7.5K race. A day later she won her 5K U16 event.
Sadie Cotton was third in Sunday’s women’s U20/18 race, Dasha Kuznetsova fourth and Meg Anderson 11th.
Anna Terranova was 10th in the U16 race on Sunday.
Chase High was fourth and Kieran Hahn fifth for the U16 boys on Saturday. Sumner Cotton was first Saturday and third Sunday while Wally Magill was third Saturday and second Sunday in the U14 boys races.
For the U14 girls, Heidi Andre was 15th Saturday, Ellery Hodges 12th Saturday and 11th Sunday, Sidney Barbier 13th and ninth and Grace Zanni 20th and 10th.
Grey Barbier was second in both days of racing in the U12 boys division, and Nikita Andre was second both days in the U10 girls races.
