Hannah again an All-American for DU

— A year ago, Lars Hannah was a freshman celebrating an NCAA skiing championship in his hometown of Steamboat Springs with his University of Denver teammates.

It didn't work out quite the same way for the Pioneers this year, but Hannah still recorded strong results at the NCAA Skiing Championships, which took place this year in New Hampshire.

Hannah earned high finishes in both his cross-country ski races. He was 10th in the 10-kilometer men's Classic race, earning second-team All-American honors, then 11th in the 20K freestyle race.

Steamboat Springs racer Kathleen O’Connell, with Montana State University, also raced at the event. She placed 28th in the 5K Classic race and 31st in the 15K freestyle event.

Utah won the team championship, knocking DU off the throne. The Utes were especially strong in the cross-country skiing events en route to their 11th skiing title. It was their first since 2003.

Colorado was second and DU third.
